What happens with old stock when it adopted the brand?

I have a stock in my portfolio that changes its name. Does the existing population enter a state of radiation or do not migrate older populations that reflect the new value?

If they change their names should not be any changes made on whether contributions Shares of the NYSE, Nasdaq, Amex, etc. through what may happen is that its symbol can change. For example, while Sun Microsystems does not change its symbol from SUNW was to Java. Nothing changes.
