Is it okay to deep clean a soft guitar case?

Anyone have any tips on cleaning a soft guitar case? My husband’s soft Taylor case got peed on by the cat (yeah, gross)– so I’m thinking it needs to be fully submerged in a cold bath of vinegar and a little dish soap– then aired out in the sun– will this mess up the case at all? Anyone had to deal with this before?

Most guitar cases cannot be submerged totally in water without damage. I suggest cleaning it by giving it a sponge bath with Nature’s Miracle straight. It has enzymes that will digest the bacteria in urine that causes the smell. Then I would fill the case with crumpled newspaper or put a plastic open container of either borax, baking soda, talc, carpet fresh or activated charcoal, all of which absorb odors. You might need to leave the odor absorbing materials in there for a couple of weeks to fully remove the smell.
